Knock knock! Who is there? It’s me , Goose! Hahahahaha! Sometimes I crack myself up.
Things haven’t been so funny around the house lately. It all started when she who shall not be named (one of my cat housemates) decided to explore the trash. You see, my mom and dad (Dr. Moore and Tyler) spend some time this Summer rearranging the house. And at some point in this moving, one of us pets found some bright green pellets.
Mom freaked out and she doesn’t even know which of us found it. She gave me some medicine in my arm and then I vomited all over my kennel! Why is she so mean sometimes! Then she gave me another shot to make me stop vomiting and then this gross black stuff she called activated charcoal. I didn’t even vomit up the green stuff!
Mom says the pellets were something called Rodenticide. It’s for killing rats. She never buys the stuff, so she thinks it must have been there from the people that lived there before us. There are several different kinds of rodenticide, so it was a good thing the wrapper was with the pellets so she could find out what kind is was. The kind we had was a third generation rodenticide which means it makes us not be able to clot if we eat it and it can last 6-8 weeks! There is a different kind of rodenticide that causes seizures in rats and causes neurologic problems in dogs and especially cats. I’m glad that isn’t the kind we had because it isn’t really fixable unless it’s caught really early.
As for us, all 4 of us (2 cats and 2 dogs) are all eating Vitamin K tablets twice a day with our food. And no one every fessed up to Mom. . .
