Hi!  It’s me, Goose.  You’d never believe what my mom and dad got me this Summer.  Kittens!!  I was a little freaked out when the kids and mom came home one day with this weird smelling cardboard box.  And the kittens were so tiny!

Mom, that’s Dr. Moore, wouldn’t let me near them at first.  I just barked at them from a distance.  She put them in the playroom and closed the door.  But I sniffed them through the door.  They smell so sweet!

After about a week, mom would hold the kittens and let me sniff them.  They hissed a bit at first, but when I quit barking at them, they stopped hissing. Then, she would let them out and kept me and my brother Knox on a leash.  They kittens would explore all around.  At first it was fun to watch them and I really wanted to explore with them. But then I got bored and decided to take a nap instead.

After several nights of this leash action, Mom decided I could be off the leash. But by this point, I wasn’t so excited to check them out.  They weren’t new anymore.

Now my mom leaves the playroom door open but she put a baby gate up in the doorway.  The kittens can come and go through the bars, but I can’t get in there.  Which I don’t like because their food tastes so much better than mine. And I didn’t even mention how good the litterbox smells!

The kittens and I sometimes still play chase, but I never catch them.  They can jump really high and have lots of high places I  can’t get to.  I guess it’s important to always have a place that you feel safe in.  Me, I love my kennel and go in there when I need a break.

Speaking of a break, I’m ready for a nap now.  More honking later!

Love,

Goose
