Hi! It’s me again! I’m Goose! Oh man, me and my new brother, Knox, have been playing pretty hard. He likes to roll me over and give me kisses on my face. He sure is growing fast! He’s almost twice my size already.
When we are playing in the backyard, I get thirsty and I pant a lot. Sometimes I drink from this big pot that used to hold a plant. My Mom (Dr. Moore) says that’s disgusting but I’m a dog!
My Mom also says it’s a good thing I’m vaccinated. I don’t know what that means, but she does. She tells me that if I drank from contaminated water, I could get a disease called Leptospirosis. Apparently it’s a bacteria found in stagnant water ponds, lakes, and rivers. And carried by rats and rodents to our backyard! I think THAT’s disgusting!
My Mom says it’s super important to get vaccinated every year for Leptospirosis. I’m going to need this vaccine even when I’m old! The disease can cause liver and kidney disease in dogs. She says even humans can get it! But my Mom would never drink from the pot in the yard. That’s so silly.
Gotta run. Knox is trying steal my favorite ball.
