I think it’s funny that this article is called “Goose Honks”. I don’t honk! I bark! A lot and loudly! I don’t know why my mom thinks that’s funny.
Sometimes when I’m visiting my mom at work (she’s Dr. Moore), I DO hear dogs honking. It’s really a cough that sounds like it hurts. My mom says some of the time it’s due to something called “Kennel Cough”. Good thing I’ve never had it. It doesn’t sound like fun.
Apparently it’s also called Canine Respiratory Disease Complex because Kennel Cough is actually made up of several difficult bacteria and viruses that attack the respiratory tract. I could catch it by being in close contact with a dog that has it. That’s why I stay away from all the coughing dogs.
The good news is that I’m vaccinated for it! That means that even if I’m exposed to the disease, I would not have as severe a problem as a dog not vaccinated.
I’m sure glad that I have been vaccinated against the really honking problem.
Gotta go! There’s another one of those scary delivery men at the door. At least they always bring presents.
